Workshop on vessel registration and ancillary services

The Economic Development Board in collaboration with the Shipping Division of the Ministry of Ocean Economy, Marine Resources, Fisheries and Shipping have hosted a workshop on vessel registration and ancillary services on Wednesday 20 February 2019 at Intercontinental Mauritius Resort. The main objective of the workshop was to further develop the Mauritius Open registry and attract relevant players in ancillary services. The targeted audience was the business community having a link to the vessel registration and associated services. The workshop was conducted in four sessions dealing with the following topics; Session 1 (Ship Registration and Ancillary Services, A Global Perspective); Session 2 (A Snapshot of Ship Registration in Mauritius); Session 3 (Positioning Mauritius in the Global Arena); and Session 4 (Materialising Opportunities-Quick wins and the Medium and Long term) where Ms. Dipna Gunnoo; head of MARC had the opportunity to intervene regarding arbitration in the shipping industry.
