Training on International Arbitration for Legal Practitioners and Business Operators

MARC will be organizing a training on International Arbitration for Legal Practitioners and Business Operators, in February next year, in Johannesburg, in association with the Indian Ocean Rim Association, White & Case LLP and the Mumbai Center for International Arbitration.

 

This training aims at offering insights, sharing perspectives and providing a comprehensive overview of international arbitration to legal and business communities based in the region and beyond.  

This training initiative is supported by the Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) and the MCCI under a project aimed at the 'Creation of a Center of Excellence for Dispute Resolution in the IORA Region'.

 

The training will take place between the 10th and 14th February 2020 in Johannesburg at:

The programme will be as follows:

  • Day 1: Mastering the Basics of Arbitration for the Business Community
  • Day 2: Conducting Efficient International Arbitration Proceedings
  • Day 3: Arbitrating Against State Owned Entities
  • Day 4: Arbitrating Maritime Trade Disputes in the IORA Region
  • Day 5: Investment Arbitration in the IORA Region

 

The sessions will be led by a series of speakers which include members of the project core team, as well as international arbitrators, academics and experts on the field of international arbitration.
